Installing the Plugin
The plugin will NOT work with data installs.  Delete any data install that exists before starting.  It WILL work with UMDs, but thanks to data installs causing more problems than they solve, it's a good idea to rip the UMD to an ISO as it's so much faster.

The plugin is known to work with M33, Prometheus and PRO (6.20, 6.35, 6.39, 6.60) CFWs.  It should work on any CFW that supports regular PRX plugins.  We have yet to see any plugins conflict with this one.

Mount your PSP through USB, then extract the archive (including folder) to the seplugins folderin the root of your PSP's storage.  If the seplugins folder doesn't exist, create it.

Now we're going to enable the plugin on the PSP.  In the seplugins folder, open the game.txt file in a text editor like Notepad.  Create the file if it doesn't exist.

Then copy ONE of the following lines, depending on what kind of PSP you have, and paste it at the top of the game.txt file:
PSP Go:
ef0:/seplugins/mhp3rd_loader/mhp3patch.prx 1

All other PSPs:
ms0:/seplugins/mhp3rd_loader/mhp3patch.prx 1

Installing/Updating the Patch

Once the plugin is installed, all you have to do is extract the MHP3RD_DATA.BIN file from a patch download to the plugin's mhp3rd_loader folder.  When you're done, the seplugins folder will have at least these files on the PSP's storage:
seplugins/game.txt
seplugins/mhp3rd_loader/mhp3patch.prx
seplugins/mhp3rd_loader/MHP3RD_DATA.BIN
seplugins/mhp3rd_loader/readme.txt

Reboot the PSP.  That's it!

Note that it's safe to use leave the plugin enabled when using other games.  That means you don't have to do anything; just enable it and forget.

If you want to update the patch, simply overwrite the old MHP3RD_DATA.BIN file with the new one and then re-launch the game.  Simple.  :)

CREDITS GOES TO TEAM MAVERICK ONE!!
